My favorite song to this day is Staying Alive. I don't know what it is about that song but it is just a great song that has stuck with me for 30+ years. I would say it is probably because Saturday Night Fever was the first R rated film I had ever watched, and I was 6 at the time, and I just remember that song so much and remember playing it on the record player until I wore the album out so bad I had to have the parents buy me another copy. I still have the original purchased LP as well as the replacement copy. I like the remix that is on the special edition greatest hits CD, I wish it was longer. I have been trying to track down an acapella to make my own remix of it for some time... such a great song.
Well, now, I get low and I get high, and if I can't get either I really try.

I'm with you...I think Main Course is probably one of the best albums ever made...by anyone!

To Whom It May Concern is a unique album in their catalog. That grouping of short little songs on side 1 was something they hadn't done before. Paper Mache... is wild, no?
I've gotta look thru my 45's - I have one on which the B side is a song written and sung by Maurice, which was rare at the time. "Dogs" is another favorite.
Speaking of NYC, I have some nice photos of the boys playing in Central Park at the Schaefer Music Festival, right after the release of Main Course. I'll try to post it on My Space or elsewhere. Let you know.

Kevin: a little off topic, but you clown pic scares the snot out of me!

I have to agree with the poster who mentioned "Here at Last...Live" Also, I must apologize for the posts I made Friday night...Let me explain a bit: Like many of you here, I grew up in the 60's and 70's and, as we all know, NOTHING will ever match the quality of the music produced in that era! Anyway, we just found out that my mom (68 yrs. old/young) has a rare and deadly form of cancer (Anaplastic thyroid, which has spread into her lungs) and she only has a short time left. My family has been fortunate, in that we haven't had to deal with too many deaths, no unexpected, through the years. Me...I'm devastated. Really devasted. I'm crying as I type this (I'm a guy, and i never cry.). Anyway, the other night my mind went STRAIGHT to that album from the 70's. I had the 8-Track tape, and I wore it out!!! Through the years, I always looked for it in stores and could never find it. So when I was typing the other night, I was angry and I had had a few glasses of wine. I ended up downloading it from Amazon onto my Windows Media Player, but I still don't know how to burn it onto a cd. My mom loved the album too, and I want to give it to her now. I saw on Amazon that someone wanted $40.00 to sell it on cd/MP3. Too much. My question is: Why don't the Bee Gees sell this album?? It is among the best "Live" albums of all time!! And, to you "lunita", your post was great. You should hear "Here at Last...Live", you'll love it!!!! Thank you all for listening.

Hi Omphalos, Sorry to hear about your mom. I know all to well how events such as this can alter your mood. The Here At Last album is currently out of print as they changed record companies back in 2006 and Rhino/Reprise have yet to issue this album (along with a lot of the others). Hence why the demand tend to escalate the prices of titles such as this. There has been a 2 year hiatus of the Bee Gees re-issues (and other artists' work) due to a shake-up at Warner Music Group and big lay-offs. The release schedule is chronological and they are about to release Odessa in January so it may take time for Here At Last to see a physical release. You can burn the files you downloaded from Amazon by creating a burn list in Windows Media Player and then proceed to burn that to CD. Remember that you will require 2 CDs to fit all the tracks from this title as it exceeds 80 minutes playing time. Best regards,
